Would the Virginia tech gunman have been able to kill as many if a CCW was allowed?

If a CCW (concealed carry weapons) law were allowed in Virginia, I believe the gunman would have been stopped long before 32 (that number does not include the gunman) people were killed. If other people carried a weapon they could have stopped the killer.
Answer:
Good question. But do you really want guns in the hands of KIDS that are learning how to becomes adults while dealing with college stress?

Maybe, but hindsight is always 20/20
very true
Best not to assume they would have had time, unless everyone in the classroom had a weapon, you could not be sure that the first ones shot when he swept the room wouldn't have been the ones carrying. Even under the best of circumstances (not an automatic, no one in shock) it would have required a highly trained (as in special forces) response... how many ex-SEALS attend VT...? Most 20 year old kids would have froze. More guns would not have stopped this.
Probably not. There would still have to be someone who was ready, willing and able in the right place at the right time. Still, it certainly couldn't have hurt.
You can already get CCW permits in Virginia. Private buildings can ban them from being brought inside though.
yeah but what if 7 ccw carriers ran out at the same time like another question on here pointed out ? I mean obviously hopefully nobody is pointing,,but what if they were and did, and shot the wrong person ?
This whole premise (and you're not the only one who is suggesting it) is naive to the point of foolishness.

You have to assume that the gunman would have been stopped before killing the 32 people he killed. He might have killed more and he might have killed less if people on campus had been armed. He'd have to run into the one person who was ready, willing and able to kill him first and that person would have to be *successful* at doing so. Putting more guns on the campus guarantees nothing except the possibility that more people might have been shot.
Perhaps all guns should be implanted with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) rather than CCW law allowed. Traceable Guns in US.
there will b more killers
No he would not have killed nearly as many people. Firing a weapon at close range takes very little skill, and when you are armed in a room with one or two doors coming in, the guy trying to come in the doors is at an extreme disadvantage.

If you close your eyes and imagine that you are one of 15 targets in a room with one or two doors, and that you are the only one armed, and the shooter has to come through one of the doors in order to shoot his victims, you can understand the advantage. He has 15 targets, you only have one.
