Would you do it if t happen to you?

If there were an UPS package deliverd to your door with your name address written on the package.And inside were $3,500 of Travlers checks with your name also witten on them for you to cash them and no instruction. After examining the checks , would you try to verify if those checks were real and if so would you cash them? You have no i dea where they came from,but everythin is in your name,including another envilope with your name and adress on it as well with checks in them.

The checks represent a payment to the person named on them. They are an order for a bank to pay out of deposited funds.

The only thing you have to think about is whether there is a contractual obligation attached to cashing the checks.

If nothing is stated, then you are free to accept the gift and pay your taxes on it. (Gifts are taxable income...)
